The Impact of Your Support

As we reflect on our history, we are proud of our continued commitment to excellence in service, which we could not do without the support of partners like you. Together we were able to pivot quickly during the pandemic, shifting our programs and services to remote operations, developing new staffing models, and expanding our ability to serve job seekers and employers through innovative training and partnerships.

Thanks to the generous support and partnership of the State of Maryland, Prince George's County Government, Comcast, and several foundations, we were able to renovate our primary training space during the COVID closure. We re-opened with a welcoming, energy-efficient, upgraded training facility that offers 24/7 public WiFi in a community where many lack technology in their homes. This has increased our ability to serve youth and adults in the shifting employment market.

We continue to work with business partners and review labor market demand to identify employment opportunities, and develop pipelines of job seekers who have the skills and training employers are – and will be – looking for.

And yet, even with all of this, there is still work to do. We are embarking on Phase II of our renovations designed to strengthen our approach to community support services. This will enable residents to access technology, professional clothing, food, housing resources, access to social services, referrals, and other assistance that helps people in need support themselves and their families.

The services and training we offer helps those who are adversely impacted by systemic barriers that lead to employment, housing and education inequality, domestic violence, and more.

Your support ensures that we can:

  • train job seekers to acquire new skills and certifications that align with today’s career needs;
  • provide technology (laptops and WiFi) to our participants to close the digital divide;
  • secure resources to strengthen our community safety net services (emergency food assistance, access to social services, domestic violence survivor support, mental health referrals, etc.); and
  • change the lives of individuals, families, and entire communities for the better!

We are so thankful for your tax-deductible donation. We are also grateful for in-kind services, equipment donations, referrals, etc.
